About Me
My name is Rachel and I am 24 years old. I was born and raised in a small town outside of Seattle, Washington. Traveling has always been a part of my life. After seven mission trips, three of which included Mexico, Kenya, and India, a gymnastics trip to China, a stint as a nanny in Nepal, and a bachelors degree in global politics, I knew my passion for travel and experiencing the world was more than just a phase.

My next journey will be more than just marking a destination off the bucket list. I will be living and working in Senegal with the ELCA's Young Adults in Global Missions (YAGM) program. The next year will provide the time and space for me to analyze the ways in which Faith plays a role in my daily life, as well as allowing me the opportunity to address my privilege in ways that wouldn't be possible from the U.S. I am empowered by the idea that this year will bring about a change in myself that I can't begin to imagine.
